Our Vision for PE:
At Studley Primary Academy, the intent for Physical Education (PE) in keeping with our vision, to nurture the well-being of all members of the Studley community, is to provide a well-rounded and inclusive curriculum that inspires all pupils to develop a lifelong love for physical activity and sport. Our aim is to promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of every child through a progressive and comprehensive PE programme. We recognise the importance of PE in promoting healthy lifestyle choices and developing essential skills such as teamwork, resilience, and leadership. All pupils, regardless of their starting points or abilities, have equal access to high-quality PE provision that is challenging, engaging, and tailored to meet individual needs. Through our PE curriculum, we seek to foster a positive attitude towards physical activity, nurture a growth mindset, and instil the Christian values of fairness, respect, and perseverance in all our pupils.
Our PE curriculum is carefully designed and sequenced to provide a broad and balanced range of activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our pupils. Lessons are delivered by well-trained and enthusiastic staff who are committed to delivering engaging and purposeful sessions that inspire pupils to achieve their full potential. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting active participation and enjoyment in PE by offering a wide variety of sports and physical activities, including team games, gymnastics, athletics, dance, and outdoor pursuits. Through a mixture of structured lessons, extracurricular clubs, and inter-school competitions, we provide opportunities for pupils to develop their skills, deepen their understanding of health and fitness, and foster a sense of sportsmanship and fair play. A carefully considered learning journey of fundamental skills and knowledge and consistent lesson structure, ensure that children make progression over time, developing key aspects of learning that support in leading an active and healthy lifestyle. By incorporating cross-curricular links and real-life contexts into our PE lessons, we aim to make learning relevant, meaningful, and memorable for our pupils, thus enhancing their overall educational experience.
We enhance the curriculum with regular visits from Olympic athletes to inspire and motivate the children
